is it possible to play the game with two people over the Internet at different places not local with 2 PC's?

Can you state the exact configuration you seek?

For example:

2 people on computer A play with 2 people on computer B, where computer A is in California and computer B is in New York.

This configuration is playable.

If A and B are in the same house on the same network, this works as well, as I initially worked on the network play with LAN support early on, for quick development iteration.
