Now I'm not saying any of this will necessarily be of use, but should save some legwork regardless. Also is a thank you for the communication of some people.

The YouTubers listed here aren't at the top of the food chain. Some have hundreds, thousands or tens of thousands of subscribers. But the majority of these YouTubers specialise in small indie productions exclusively. And among those, many channels have a specific niche focus. Some of them really focus on games that go outside of the box and fly under the radar. Support your local YouTuber. Smaller Indie developers do well if these type of YouTubers also do well. We want to see their success.

In general, there are many benefits - known and yet unknown - that rise from a strengthening of community links here. Especially early access testing etc. to name one. I dunno but I'm going with it.

I haven't necessarily had any games posted on these channels but I've been in communication with a few and the creators have proved to be helpful and informative along the way.

Some of them do take and consider requests if contacted. Now be gentlemanly and respectful, people. Really take a look first at each channel and consider whether these YouTubers' content matches up with the style of the game that you're offering. You can send an email request if there's a slim chance that the preference might align, but I'd advise against blindly sending off a copy pasted blanket email to every YouTuber you find regardless of the congruity between their style and yours. Obviously, send games for free also.

My etiquette procedure is to like and subscribe to these creators if any of them deliver a reply to an email, even if that reply is a polite decline to play your game. Must say to you YouTubers, it's as validating to get a response saying no to a game, since it ratifies the feeling that we're not just sending our correspondence off into an empty void in deep space.

The legend https://www.youtube.com/@jimzark/videos No commentary. Focusses on pick up and play, visually stimulating, fast to understand fun games. Finds games with experimental fundamentals.

https://www.youtube.com/@AnaMoonGameplays/videos The queen of adventure games. Has a huge library - though not necessarily exclusively - of chill gameplay videos mostly of the point and click Lucas arts style variety. Spanish is their native language and if the option for Spanish as default language selection can be chosen, it shall be.

https://www.youtube.com/@BlancoKix/videos Has an insanely huge wealth of videos of all different genres. Variety.

https://www.youtube.com/@PrejudgedSeeker/videos Doesn't upload to YouTube much anymore but does occasionally stream on Twitch.

https://www.youtube.com/@CABROWN/videos A passion and mission statement to find truly underrated indie gems. He's gotten bigger and bigger as time marches forward and pools around Steam mostly but remains sincere in the dedication to indie.

https://www.youtube.com/@CasaIndie/videos Spanish channel. Hasn't been active for a while but still about.

https://www.youtube.com/@alexis_rambles Majority of videos focus on horror but has expanded to other genres.https://www.youtube.com/@catkostenko/videos

https://www.youtube.com/@ClemmyGames/videos  Looking for the next big thing, remains in contact to consider submissions.

https://www.youtube.com/@ChillPadGamer A mix of full longplays of different genres including games for younger audiences. Russian first language.

https://www.youtube.com/@handheldgameplayer/videos A speciality channel worth subscribing to that deals exclusively with handheld consoles. Unless your game can be ported to some sort of handheld compatible format like a cartridge for example, then this YouTuber does not take request streams. But a good connection/gateway to the handheld enthusiasts.

https://www.youtube.com/@LunaPrincessNinjato/videos Not sure if this is a 40 year old dude or an actual fairy princess because this person has some coding talent and a creative drive. Got a style at least. Posts some videos of other games of certain genres such as bullet hells.

https://www.youtube.com/@8-bitgraphix/videos

There are other YouTubers to mention but they declined to be included in the list.

Among the YouTubers below are some likely dead channels. However, I've seen some of them post new videos years after their previous.

Definitely some I've missed out among these. Sorry.

Youtubers that don't have an email address contact on their YouTube channel. But they do have either Twitch, Discord or X pages/accounts.

As for YouTubers who specialise in horror games, just pick any horror game on here and scroll to the comments. YouTube is saturated with YouTubers chasing the reaction video train. There are probably some already on this list and there is no shortage. They're easy to find. They usually go and find you if you're a horror game developer to be honest. However, they tend to be exclusive in horror content or else expand into AAA mainstream releases if not.

In general, some additional advice we would give in terms of finding your niche is to really think about what the strongest aspect of your game is or what aspect of your game you really value. Think about what aspect of your game, players will identify. As in, if they were only allowed to use one adjective to wholly describe your game, what would it be. Then once you've done that, utilise Itch's browse feature and search games using the word you've identified as your main tag. For example, for one of our games we searched the tag 'political'. We browsed a few games that popped up with that tag. We looked at the comments for those games and occasionally found YouTubers who had made a video for those games where they then posted it. That was a Youtuber more likely affiliated with the content we would make. Try different tags. We tried 'philosophical' once and 'shoot em up' for another. It is slow, gradual but slightly more accurate hunting if you need to find a content creator for an ambiguous niche.

Will do more with other websites after we've plunged into all that more deeply. And after getting Twitch and Discord going maybe.

If you find this post valuable and want to pay some form of gratitude, please take a look at the free games on my page and download the ones you like the look of. And if you try Killing Machine Movement and believe games can grow on you after the initial first impression, please try to get to level 4 and see what you think from there.

How to grow YouTuber's audiences? That's another question to then tackle.

Add to this database in the meantime maybe? *shrugging emoji*

This is an amazing compilation! Thanks for putting so much effort into gathering indie-focused YouTubers and streamers. Connecting with smaller channels like these can really help indie developers get early exposure and build a supportive community. Definitely bookmarking this for future outreach!
