Looking to put together a small team for a 2D commercial game project. The goal is to make something that's practical in scope, fun to play, and can actually succeed commercially. This won't be easy.
I'm a programmer ready to commit serious time to this. I've built Flare (a 2D platformer engine for Unity) and Pixelverse (a Pixel Art Editor also for Unity), and now instead of making tools, I want to make an actual game.
I'm hoping to find an artist and game/level designer who have experience, time to dedicate, and genuinely want to complete a successful project. We'd need to maintain consistent progress each week since that's usually what separates finished games from the ones that fizzle out after a few months.
The game itself? I'm open to any genre and art style as long as it's 2D and built in Unity. We' can decide as a team on a shared vision so everyone's aligned from the start. What matters most is finding the right people who have the skills to pull this off and won't disappear when things get challenging.
To be clear:
-
More than a few hours a week is required
-
This is not a learning project. Please only reach out if you have experience and have a link to show work.
-
This is a revenue share only project. There’s no upfront pay, and while the goal is a commercial release, income is not guaranteed.
-
The game will be practical in scope. We’re not making a 200-hour RPG or an MMO. The focus is on a tight, completable project that can actually ship.
Project timeline is expected to be about one year, though it will probably go a bit longer. Immediate goal is to find people and then create a prototype.
