Mirrored Blood: Game Development Opportunity
Project Status: Pre-Production | Team: Remote, Global | Model: Equity-Based until Funding
About the Project
"Mirrored Blood" is a dark sci-fi fantasy action RPG with a unique combat mechanic centered on a "fluid switching" system. Players will seamlessly transition between two distinct characters: The Boy, a vampire with agile close-quarters combat, and The Lady, a necromancer with powerful ranged abilities. Our goal is to create a compelling gameplay loop and an emotional narrative in a semi-open world environment.
We are a small, passionate team focused on creating a playable prototype to secure a publisher.
The Opportunity: Join Our Core Team
We are seeking talented, passionate individuals to join us on an equity-based model. Upon receiving publisher funding, these roles will transition to salaried positions.
Roles We Are Hiring For:
Game & Gameplay Programmers (4-5 Positions)
You will be responsible for building the core systems and mechanics that define the game's experience.
Your Mission:
Implement the core gameplay loop for combat, movement, and the user interface.
Code the "Fluid Switching" mechanic and its associated abilities.
Design and program enemy AI and the combat logic for our playable prototype.
Work with our designers to integrate assets and optimize performance within Unreal Engine 4.
Skills & Experience:
Proficiency with Unreal Engine 4 (UE4), including Blueprints and C++.
A strong portfolio of personal projects or prototypes.
A collaborative spirit and the ability to work independently in a remote team.
Character & World Designer (2-3 Positions)
You will be responsible for bringing our grim, gothic world to life with a touch of ancient technology.
Your Mission:
Create 3D models and textures for our character and environmental assets.
Build the levels for our playable prototype, including The City of Pendragons and the surrounding forests.
Work with the team to ensure all assets are optimized and aesthetically consistent with the visual style guide.
Skills & Experience:
Proficiency with 3D modeling software such as Blender, Maya, or 3ds Max.
A portfolio that demonstrates a mastery of character or environmental art.
A passion for dark fantasy aesthetics and collaborative storytelling.
Writer
The Role: Your Mission
We are seeking a talented and imaginative writer to join our small, passionate team to help bring "Mirrored Blood" to life. You will be responsible for building the world and its characters from the ground up, ensuring our narrative is as compelling as our gameplay. This is a crucial role, and your work will form the backbone of the player's emotional journey.
As our writer, your responsibilities will include:
Dialogue Writing: Crafting dynamic and emotionally resonant dialogue for all main characters, NPCs, and in-game cinematics, with a focus on enhancing the pre-existing narrative.
Lore & Codex: Creating in-game lore, codex entries, and item descriptions that enrich the player's experience and provide a deeper understanding of the world.
Collaboration: Working closely with our game designers and artists to ensure the narrative is seamlessly integrated into the gameplay and visuals.
Qualifications & What We're Looking For
We are looking for a creative visionary with a passion for dark fantasy, storytelling, and video games.
Passion is Key: We need someone as excited about this project as we are. The ability to write compelling, emotionally resonant stories is a must.
Portfolio: You must have a portfolio or personal projects that demonstrate your writing skills, preferably in the form of short stories, scripts, or narrative designs.
A Self-Starter Mentality: We're a small team, so proactive communication and a collaborative spirit are essential.
NOTE: This will be a small team and will first focus on making a playable prototype to secure funding and a publisher. As a result, no salary will be paid at the early stages. Team members will begin receiving salaries once the team secures a publisher. This is an art and a dream waiting to be brought to virtual life, and I am sure that we, as a team, can and will achieve our goals.
How to Apply
