Hello everyone,
To be honest, I'm not sure if this is the right place for my question, and maybe it's completely out of place, but I'd like to ask it anyway.
I used to be an active game developer for many years. Over time, I worked on many projects: complete games, demos, mini-games, expansions, and even unfinished titles that never saw the light of day. Some were good, others not so good, but that's irrelevant for this post.
In recent years, I've been working on something that I'd like to share with you today. It's not a commercial product or a competitive project, it's a personal project close to my heart:
A platform that I see as a kind of showcase for games.
A place where developers can present their games, regardless of their status, freely, permanently and transparently. Not just the finished product, but also ideas, drafts, failed prototypes or expansions. Everything that is part of the development history.
It is a platform that offers developers the opportunity to present their games independently, regardless of whether they are finished titles, prototypes or unfinished concepts. It allows them to share not only the game itself, but also background information, development processes, dev logs, demos or never-before-released ideas with others. The focus is on direct exchange with players: comments and feedback help to further develop projects and maintain dialogue. Special attention is paid to multilingualism, content in less common languages is also expressly welcome. In the long term, the platform is intended to serve as a digital source of knowledge: not only for players, but also for other developers who want to gain insights, compare ideas and learn from each other.
In the initial phase, I am still working with AI-generated placeholder images, which are clearly marked and will later be replaced by real content. But that brings me to my actual concern...
As already mentioned, I have built the platform using test data and AI-generated placeholder images, which are of course clearly marked and will gradually be replaced by real content. But for the platform to really come to life, it needs more than just a technical structure – it needs real games, real stories and real voices.
That's exactly why I'm reaching out to you, to other developers: not because I want to sell or promote something, but because I hope to find people who are interested in showcasing their projects – whether published, unfinished or experimental – on the platform. I would like to integrate the first real content, gather feedback and work together to find out what is really needed. What do you like? What is missing? What could be better
If you can imagine showing your game – whether finished, unfinished or simply experimental – on a platform like this, I would be delighted if you would get in touch with me. Even if you're just curious, have questions, or would like to take a look at the whole thing, please don't hesitate to write to me. I'll be happy to give you an insight, answer questions, or set up a trial account if you're interested.
