Microchipping items

This game needs a new item in shop that is a microchip. The point of the item is that you can attach it (via crafting bench) to another item and then that item will show up in the radar with a unique color (with the color upgrade). There have been countless times where I lost unique items because I was holding them and I fell over some mountain with my last save being way too far away. I would love to be able to go back and see where it is on the radar so I could get it back

The beacon kind of does this already but attaching it to things can be finicky, not a bad idea. Maybe we can craft the microchips from the beacons.

I was more thinking about objects you hold. Stuff that you hold in your hands, like axes or sac daggers. So their data would get a tag that shows where they are. But getting them from beacons would be a more interesting way of getting them then from a shop!

Smart idea, I would love to see this in the actual game because I am quite frankly tired of losing good items like the axe because it got flung to the same place where socks go when you put them in the washing machine.
