I can't even get past turn 2 without getting trapped and none of the numbers you have can factor into 23,17, or 97

(-1)

In case you haven't noticed yet  (it took me a while), there is another option to use your large numbers on than just factoring them. They can also be played, and might have synergies that arent in the main game.

by the time i get to 130 they don't have enough energy for me to place anything

130 isn't your goal. You don't need it to beat the fight

that's surprisingly Confusing considering how their freezing Blocks me from doing Anything and I can still get my gems in while they're over my energy cap (yes I did all that for a CBA hello icely)

Yeah I'm having trouble with it too

I'm completely lost with this.  My energy is capped at 100, so I don't even have a way to play the stones without factoring them.  I can't understand what you could possibly do here.  The stones I play all get frozen, and if I don't play stones, I reach my hand limit and can't do anything new.

how else am I supposed to get 13 to syphon energy in the first place if it isn't 13?

Maybe you can try to at least not get all your stones frozen on the first turn and use more 2s.

Okay, I finally found a sequence that leads to a win. At no point does it involve playing the large stones, so I still have no idea what people mean by that. The first two turns are crucial.

Spoilers within.

For turn 1, use the pickaxe on the 122 to play a 61 and a 2 like so:

Turn 2, use the pickaxe on 125 to get three 5s. Use them to lock the opponent out of the top-right:

This alone opens up many paths to victory. However, you can get an even cleaner win by holding onto the 5s on turn 2, not playing anything that turn, and instead waiting until turn 3 to play them along with additional stones, allowing you to lock the opponent out of the bottom left as well:
