Bitsy crashes after minor color hacks

Hi everyone!

I'm working on my second bitsy game for a game jam and wanted to use more than one color in some rooms.

I didn't add any new colorcodes, just COL and then the color numbers from bitsy for either black or white for a few sprites. I also made two sprites transparent (BGC *).

There weren't any problems when I first made those changes. However after a few days of working on the game, it just started crashing in the middle of testing, usally on spaces before room exits. The animation of the avatar stops and I can't move anymore.

After deleting the rooms in which the game would crash and repainting them, the game crashed in some other spaces too. I don't know why, especially because it's not even crashing in rooms, where the sprites are, that have a transparent background or a 4. color.

Did anyone else have problems with bitsy crashing like that?

Any advice is much appreciated!
