Hey All!
I am a programmer with about 3 years of hobbyist experience looking to start a development team with the intent on hopefully building up to make games full time with this core group.
I have made a few games for friends just for jokes and whatnot as well as spent the past year with a team to develop a fan game. I recently left my spot there as the Sr. Dev on that project as the majority of my team with me went AFK if you will after the first few months of development, which ultimately left me with doing the majority of the work on the project that was not supposed to be a solo development.
what I am searching for in particular are like-minded individuals who have the passion to create something special and be able to set time aside a few times a week to help build this project. I do not expect anybody interested to be quitting their day jobs or anything as I will not be quitting mine currently, but I will like to build this into a career that I can pursue full time. A majority of the development cycle will be as done as passion, as you can imagine, but once the game(s) hit stores, I would like to do a revenue split preferably pretty equally as that only seems fair at this time. With that being said, I only really plan to have myself and 3 or 4 other people on this project as to not muddy up the revenue split too much.
I can program in C#, GDscript, and Rust, and I am willing to learn others like C++ if necessary. I feel I can handle the music aspects just fine as my degree is music composition and my day job is that of a middle school band director.
What I really need is someone who can do Art, 3d and/or 2d, and someone who is able to handle store and whatnot. Any coding experience is a huge plus!
As for the last 1 or 2 spots can really just be a wild card, as long as you're an asset!
The game idea I had in mind for the first project would be a mix between Pokemon Mystery Dungeon and Fate, where you are essentially crawling through procedurally generated dungeons, but the overall story and plot are ultimately linear outside of the dungeons. I have not really set any huge "it has to be this way!" sorts of things as I don't want people to sign up for one thing and feel that they had been baited into a project their not passionate about. Once I have my core team, we can discuss overall what we would like to make and from there production can begin, or we can do one or two game jams to see how we do as a team!
if interested add my discord: sliggoo_ and just tell me about yourself!
thanks!
