Potion Planet, a potion-brewing open world exploration game

Hello! I am a brand new game developer with a project that I've been working on for years. By "working on", I mean I've been doing concept art and writing out the designs surrounding gameplay. I'm very new to programming and modeling, but I plan on figuring them out by the end of the year.

The project is called Potion Planet. It is a 3D first/third person open world game centered around finding ingredients to use in brewing potions. Everything in the world, from the plants to the animals to the ground beneath your feet, is made of ingredients. Potions can improve your skills, poison your enemies, or be sold to NPCs for a profit. You can befriend NPCs or kill them permanently, both having potential positive and negative consequences.

The "planet" part is descriptive of the world generation. Rather than a flat plane, the world is a sphere of limited size. In order to find more biomes and ingredients, you must build a galactic teleporter to travel to another planet. As you can imagine, this takes a lot of time and effort. Heck, you can't even build the teleporter without finding a blueprint for it first. In the mean time, you can build yourself a house as well as houses for NPCs. You can make entire villages with roles that your villagers can fill.

I have plans for dozens of potions, plants, animals, building parts, structures, and more to be added to the game over time. I didn't even mention aspects like the stat system, the lore, and the logic-following ecosystem...

I have a lot of work to do. It won't be easy.

Rather than jumping into making the game, I'm starting with a little showcase that features a few of the elements I mentioned above. Namely, a simple environment, a few NPCs, a functioning almanac prototype (the almanac is the in-game menu), and of course, a few brewable potions. I literally just started work on this showcase demo today, so all I have right now is a map of the layout and a written list of the features.

I have a lot of concepts for things I hope to eventually implement, but not until I'm done with the showcase. Here's some previews:

If you have any questions or critique, PLEASE comment! I'm obviously very new and I can use all the help I can get.

Currently detailing the functions of every building block needed in the demo. I'm participating in Artfight this year, so I won't be doing much work on this until august. Here's a pic of what I'm doing in my spare time between drawings:
