Feedback on "Lightbulb!"

Play it here and submit feedback here or in this post.

Lightbulb! is a 2D platformer in which you play as an electrician who must repair lighbulbs throughout various levels.

It takes less than two minutes to take the survey and feedback means the world to me. I'm a tiny indie dev without much experience and while I'm trying to get better, I can't get there without feedback and support.

I'm looking for feedback such as overall ratings, bugs, glitches, things you liked about it, and really, feedback of any kind. It all helps.

Tried to play your game, but failed miserably at level 2 after many attempts.

From what I can say based on first level, "wraparound platformer" idea is in principle interesting, but thematically at odds with both electrician / lightbulb theme and wooden background. Maybe something space-related or magic-related can fit better.
Also, 'falling through' the bottom seems to be implemented by resetting the whole screen and character position to default, which is both visually jarring and defeats the point, since there is not reason now to aim when jumping down.

Thank you so much for the feedback. I'll do my best to fix those things, and I seriously hope it's better once I'm done!

I released a new update that changed level 2 to make it a bit easier.
I fixed/changed a lot of other things, too, such as completely remaking level 1 to make sure players learn the controls!

Also, the "wraparound platformer" idea you were talking about is interesting, but wasn't actually what I intended. I might add it later on somehow, but I was thinking of it as a simple die-and-respawn.

It is much better now. It turned out I completely missed the possibility of dashing before.

The only remaining frustration to me is the absence of control when hitting/sliding down the wall. I would suggest to allow slight control of falling direction.

Good luck in development.

Thank you so much! I realized after a few people playtested it that the info text in the top-left that only appears in level 1 isn't very obvious and I had to tell a few people the controls...
But now that it's fixed, I'm glad you liked it! I didn't want to make level 2 that much easier since I thought it was already pretty easy, and the only real difficulty (as far as I'm aware) is if someone missed the controls (as you did) and had no Idea what to do.
But I managed to forget double-jumping in level 1, so uhh... I'm gonna add that.
