Hey folks,
I'm working on a board game that explores dark patterns, you know, those shady Design tricks that manipulate users into doing things online that benefit the company, like those big green "Accept All" buttons next to the grey "preferences" one... The game mixes education with strategy and satire, with players navigating deceptive designs across made-up websites and apps.
It’s a bit task-heavy to get started, print-and-play pieces, some glue, couple initial rules to digest, and some companion mobile stuff for the digital integration, but it’s nothing out of the ordinary as a board game, it is designed to reflect how complex and sneaky these manipulative digital systems can be. If you’re into critical design, board games that make a point, or just want to help test a weird, experimental concept, I’d love your feedback and would me immensely appreciated that you gave it a shot!
(It is possible to be played fully digitally if you want to play online with friends, just understand the core rules and you'll easily figure it all out)
