Endless You - A Grim Take on Puzzle Platforming

Hey folks!

I wanted to share with you an early prototype of a game that's been something of a dream to make. Endless You is a 2D Puzzle Platformer where dying is part of the puzzle. It has a grim take on the genre: What if your body from your previous life stayed in the level? Then it could be moved around and platformed off of to help progress.

I first had this concept more than a decade ago, influenced by a visual misreading of Super Meat Boy, and the respawn quips from Boarderlands 2. I initially tinkered with Construct 2, trying to make a prototype, but an outdated tutorial was a big roadblock for me. Fast forward to October 2023, when a good friend of mine recommended installing Godot 4, and I had quickly veered off course from a HeartBeast Tutorial in a matter of days, proof of concept in hand.

Cut to today, and we're now a team of 9, working together to make this little idea into a full game. We plan on taking the next few months to make a vertical slice, with the intent to pitch it to investors. This version contains the first factory, but there will be 5 more plus an endgame area, lore told through inscriptions on items, and plenty of secrets to behold.

Thank you for reading, and we hope you'll enjoy Endless You: https://aurorastorialis.itch.io/endless-you-early
