Project Title: Anger of Stick: DX (Working Title)
Engine: Godot (preferably 4.x)
Project Overview:
I’m developing a 2D pixel-art beat ’em up game heavily inspired by Anger of Stick 2, a now-unavailable mobile game that featured fast-paced stickman combat. The game will feature responsive melee combos, simple gunplay mechanics, and endless waves of color-coded enemies in a gritty, stylized environment.
I've already developed a prototype in the past, but I’m now starting fresh with a full redesign—new visuals, improved combat mechanics, and a clearer vision. I’m handling all art, sound design, animation, and game design, and I’m now looking for a programmer to help bring it all together.
What I’m Looking For:
I need a Godot programmer (comfortable in GDScript or C#) who can:
-
Implement pixel-based 2D movement and animation
-
Recreate combat mechanics (combo system, air attacks, grabs, throws)
-
Code basic weapon and ammo systems (stationary shooting, ammo tracking, looting)
-
Create a simple shop system (interact to buy weapons with cash)
-
Work with a color-filter system (enemies use the same white base sprite as the player, tinted differently via shaders or modulate)
-
Help with level logic: an endless arena with enemy and shop spawns
Ideal Collaborator:
-
Comfortable working in Godot 4.x
-
Familiar with beat 'em up or action game mechanics
-
Can work with placeholder sprites and iterate as assets evolve
-
Communicative and open to design feedback
-
Passionate about retro games or indie game development
Additional Info:
-
Resolution: 480x320, pixel-art aesthetic
-
Solo-dev project, but I plan to release a public prototype or demo on itch.io when ready
-
This is a passion project with a revshare model, so I’m looking for someone who shares the vision and wants to build something fun together.
Interested?
