So I've noticed I've been getting the same events every night now. The dream event where the walls close in, and the Ariral event where they leave a shrimp where you sleep. It's been like this for the last in-game week. Is my game just bugged or is normal to get the same event back-to-back every night now?

Dreams and Ariral gifts can repeat. It's all random chance, so you could just get one dream repeatedly and nothing else.
