Web Ren'Py games are not working properly in my Firefox

I've been going nuts trying to find a solution to this, searching for any one else having this issue. Ren'Py games in web browser doesn't seem to work at all in my Firefox. Like, it loads, but then it is essentially frozen aside from the sound. If there's any movement at all, it's more easily measured as frames per minute than frames per second. I've tried running in troubleshooting mode, no plugins completely vanilla and no dice. If I click on the game to interact, it can take upwards of 20 seconds to react, and it's essentially just still frames. It works smoothly in Chrome, but I'd really want to figure out a solution for Firefox. Is there something I can do to troubleshoot, is there a setting I need to toggle? If anyone could help, I would be greatly appreciative.
