I was initially skeptical of this idea. The moves in Ironsworn feel so intentional and handle so many different angles the story could take. Then, playing it, I struggled similar to how the author of this describes struggling. I still adore Ironsworn and Starforged, especially when playing co-op with others, but I have more luck wrapping my head around this for solo play. Thank you for the cool game!

Thanks for trying it out! Yeah I have a lot of respect for how IS structure functions as somewhat of a GM emulator. There is always a move there to catch you. But, for me, they often feel procedural and ungrounded in The Fiction. I can see how in a group that might work better because everyone can "trust the process" and you don't need to debate position/effect.
