Problems with loading additional maps. And a couple of questions.

Hello. I purchased your simulator for mobile with the hope that I could import additional maps and use them. But because starting from Android 11, access to the data folder is restricted, I cannot copy the additional maps that I have. I've already tried countless methods and watched YouTube, but couldn't find a solution without complications.

I have a very big request to update the simulator on mobile by adding the ability for maps to be located outside the system folder. As I think this problem will only get worse in the future.

Please let me know if you plan to update the simulator for Android phones. It turns out that I bought a version with an editor and the ability to use other downloaded maps, but due to Android restrictions, I am deprived of this.

Наконец-то нашел решение проблемы. Я просто нашел файловый менеджер китайского происхождения. Но все равно думаю, что нужно как-то решить эту проблему. Чтобы можно было переместить карты в нужную директорию с помощью любого файлового менеджера.After all, not every user will spend so long looking for a solution to this problem, because I already had the idea of refunding the purchase, but still, it's good that I found the right file manager.

Да, новые версии операционной системы Android намеренно более ограничены в доступе к папкам. Вот почему вам нужен хороший файловый менеджер, который обойдет эти ограничения.

Yes, newer versions of the Android operating system is deliberately more restrictive when it comes to accessing folders.

That is why you need a good file manager that will overcome these restrictions.

Developer

Hello,

Are you able to save and load maps that you make yourself? (In the Freerider app itself)

Yes, newer versions of the Android operating system is more restrictive when it comes to accessing folders.

In order to be able to copy additional maps to your phone you might need to use one of these methods:

- Connect your phone to a computer and copy the files that way.

(Unlock your device. Using a USB cable, connect your device to your computer. On your device, select "File Transfer" as USB connection method).

- If you don't have access to a computer, use a good file manager (such as Solid Explorer for example) on the device itself to move the maps to the correct folder.

Maps were created, but I didn't try launching them since I didn’t make anything decent — I just explored the functionality. I deleted the maps themselves via the file manager. Unfortunately, on Android 15, Solid Explorer doesn’t have access to the data partition. I managed to load the maps using the file manager MT Manager. The maps loaded and are working.

Developer

Thank you for the information. I'm glad you were able to find a file manager that let's you access the data partition on your device.

Please advise, budlaska. Are there any updates planned for the simulator on mobile?

Currently, mobile simulators are gaining demand.

I just wanted to see the drone selection, tinywoop and similar. Tell me, do you have any plans for further development of the simulator?

I want to say that currently your simulator is in 2nd place on my mobile phone, and only because there is no possibility to choose different drones and number of maps (but the problem with the maps was solved)

Currently, your simulator has one of the best physics available on mobile simulators. I would like to see your product develop and become more popular.

Developer

Thank you for your feedback. When you say you want the possibility to choose different drones, do you mean the ability to change the look of the drone? (I'm asking since it's already possible to make it behave like different drones by changing the Custom Settings (including changing physics)).

I mean that there should be ready-to-use options for Tinywhoop, 5-inch, 7-inch, and possibly 10-inch drones, and accordingly, drone sizes by drone type. It's clear that through settings there is an ability to adjust the behavior of the drone of the appropriate type. But beginners will hardly do this. And even though I fly pretty well in the simulator and in real life, I don't think I'll be able to immediately set up the drone behavior I need. Also, a couple of maps like a house with obstacles would be nice.

Do you currently have any plans to update the simulator for mobile devices?

Developer

I see what you mean, and I agree it might be a good idea to have such ready-to-use options, especially for beginners. I will consider it. Yes I have plans to update the mobile version since the Google Play store require apps to be updated in order to be available for newer Android versions. (Not sure if the update will include any new features though).
