this demo was hugely inspired by Va11-Ha11-A.

IDE/Engine:

JavaSE-1.8. Eclipse.

Lore Description:

Congratulations! You have been accepted by I.C.E. Corporation, a company dedicated to communicating with, containing, and calming anomalies and non-terrestrial beings.

Your job is to work at the ice cream station in the company cafeteria, serving a variety of guests — from staff members to visitors from other worlds — with Earth-style frozen treats.

We wish you the best in your new role.

Mechanics:

To be fairly honest, I do not think the demo will be any more than "visual novel with some interactions", guests asks you something, you provide something, then listen to their dialogue, the Driving Force might just be the lores.

Screenshots of what I have so Far:

Interaction panel:

Some other assets: (GLORP!)

as mentioned earlier, the demo right now is for univ course project, and thus some visual will not correspond with what i really wanted in order to keep the same with the course requirements. But assets will be reused in future project i hope.

i might update assets drawing progress on X.

Update #1:

I have spend some time on the visual aspect of the actual interaction scene, now it has Day -> Night transition along with a parallax effect, both the astronaut arm and body and rest.

Parallax Effect:

Day Night Transition, speed up for recording quality:

Onward, I will be looking to the interaction between the user and the client, along with dialogue bubbles that are Paper, Please-like.

Update #2:

Upon revision, i find a simple dialogue box should be enough for now, as the demo only needs to guide and showcase simple interactions.

Dialogue Box:

Update #3

Interactable client, and corresponding dialogue.

update #4

This project, for this period, has been officially concluded, despite i cannot show the file or share any video other than what i have in X https://x.com/cakelord114514/status/1913492068527423722, i am satisfy with the result.

I will keep going with this devlog, if i am reusing all the assets and rebuild it in Godot.

Java Eclipse is not the best tool despite some amazing game like rusted warfare was from there.
