Does the path at the beginning matters ? Will it effect the storyline or it’s just for fun ? Like what should i choose Academic, criminal or jock?

It changes dialogues in several places but has no major effects

Like Nennius said, it changes small parts of certain scenes for flavour, but the branching is due to other choices.
