Looking for Feedback and Ideas for new prototype "Day Trader Cats"

Hey all!

I just created a prototype for my game “Day Trader Cats” where you control cats to earn money to save your business. You can customize your island with decorations, upgrade your cats by feeding them mice, and put them on the computer so they earn money.

Do you think it would be worth diving deeper into this game? If so what route should i prioritize? (Customizations, New Features/Upgrades?)

Thank you for the help! Appreciate you all!

I think this a really cute and fun idea. I enjoyed my time with the cats. If you want to do more with this game then I think you should. My favorite part of the game was decorating the island.

Yayy thank you, I’ll look to add more decorations then for sure 👍. I appreciate your input 🙏

This game is pretty adorable, I like the concept. I kind of got bored after like ten cats or so, I think if there were more things to buy and more ways to decorate I'd have wanted to play for longer. I think if you want to keep going you could make more to do! Bonus points that there was a cat named Light Yagami

Haha, I had fun with some of the names. More items and utilities are in the works!

Thanks so much for playing and for your input.  I appreciate you.

Version 1.3 is officially live and there are loads of new features!

I'd love to get some more feedback on this updated version, any input you got is greatly appreciated!

I'm also struggling to find new ways I can include more utilities, so if anyone has any ideas I will gladly hear you out and will throw your name into the credits!

Thank you for playing!

Hello! Very cute game so far! My suggestions would be:

  1. Animation for working cats so it's more clear that they're doing something
  2. Status bars such as motivation, hunger, fatigue etc. Is a cat's motivation is high, maybe it makes money twice as fast. If low, it'll be slower or maybe even refuse to work at all until it's fed or has playtime, stuff like that.
  3. Not sure if coffee already does this as I haven't gotten the coffee yet, but maybe it could give a burst of motivation for a few seconds, followed by a crash where the cat is slower to make money for another few seconds before going back to normal. Perhaps one of the upgrades for the cats would be a better caffeine tolerance with longer burst of energy and shorter crashes.
  4. Making it possible to deselect a cat. The white frame always seems to be on one of the cats at all times and I keep accidentally moving the cats away from the computer when clicking around or placing decorations.

Keep up the good work and good luck with the game!

Those are great ideas! Thank you so much for playing and for sharing your feedback here. I'm going to have to steal some of those haha.

I really like your motivation idea that's actually a perfect way to incorporate the cat's interests and favorite things into the game!

To deselect a cat you can right-click.  I'm not sure if I have that in the info scene or not, might have to make the controls more clear in a future update.

Again thank you!

Ooops my bad, should have checked the controls first tbh ^^'

Glad to hear my feedback was useful! Again, wish you all the best!
