I just started the quest for Alice BUT I don't know who can teach me slang to get past the bouncer am I just slow and cant read?

Go speak to Kate at the Mall's Store. Pay her $2,000 and she'll teach you the slang ( Urban Linguist Trait Unlocked ). When Kate asks you again and when the Bouncer tests you once more, carefully choose a dialogue indicating Urban Linguist.

I'm stuck on the through the looking glass (alice) quest, I meet her at the club but every time I go downtown she's not there? am I missing something?

It's only on friday that you can meet her at the club otherwise you can see her at church or in Adrian's room.
