2D Platformer Prototype - Try it Out!

Hey everyone!

I’ve recently uploaded a playable prototype of my 2D platformer game on Itch.io, and I’m really excited to share it with you all. It’s still a work in progress, but I’d love to hear your feedback to help shape its future development.

You can play it directly in your browser here: https://koliashwin.itch.io/knight-platformer

About the Game:

This game focuses on movement mechanics and challenging enemy interactions. Here’s what you can expect in the current build:

  • Core Player Features: Running, jumping, dashing, attacking, wall sliding, wall jumping, and respawning. There’s also a basic health system in place.
  • Enemy AI: Enemies patrol, chase the player, and have knockback reactions when hit. Currently, you’ll face a few different enemy types like vultures and hyenas.
  • Level Design: The game is at an early stage of an open-world approach, where you can explore area, face obstacles, and defeat enemies. Future updates will feature an ability unlock system to access new areas.
  • Mobile Play: I’ve implemented basic on-screen controls (D-pad and buttons) to support mobile gameplay (still in testing phase).

What I Need Your Help With:

Since the game is still early in development, I’d really appreciate any feedback on the following:

  • Controls: How do they feel, both on keyboard and mobile?
  • Gameplay Feel: Does the game feel responsive and fun to play?
  • Suggestions for Improvement: Anything you think would enhance the experience, or ideas for new features you’d like to see?

What’s Coming Next?

Here’s what I plan to add in future updates:

  • Sound Effects and Music: The next step will be adding sound to bring the world to life.

Thanks for trying out my game! I’m looking forward to hearing your thoughts and suggestions. Your feedback will be super helpful as I continue developing the game.

Feel free to share any comments or suggestions directly on the Itch.io page!
