Hey there everyone!
I'm solely developing a spiritual successor to Super Castlevania IV. It's not a 100% recreation of Super Castlevania's mechanics, some things that didn't need changing are the same, but others are tweaked or completely overhauled. I've also added some mechanics that didn't exist in Castlevania IV. So here goes, in my game you can:
- whip in all 8 directions (works exactly like in Super Castlevania IV)
- sprint like Richter Belmont in Symphony of the Night
- shoot projectiles from the whip while sprinting (inspired by the GameBoy Castlevanias)
- move while crouching (exactly like Castlevania IV)
- change direction after jumping (similar to Castlevania IV)
- perform a continuous attack (big change from Super Castlevania's holding attack)
Development of this project started on December 30th 2018 ans it's been 2 months of development. So far I only have the character and menu. The menu has full controller support.

I would love to get some feedback on how the character controls, looks and feels.
Thank you!
