"Despite the crime. Despite the inequality. Despite the corruption. You still love this place. There’s something special here that the powers that be haven’t been able to snuff out yet."
We always begin with that when talking about Machine: Impossible because it's important you know you're not in for your normal type of cyberpunk story. Machine: Impossible is a game about all the places you've ever loved, and all the things you wish you could do to make them better, or keep them awesome.
We made it cyberpunk to support to the really novel and unique character creation system in the game. When you level up, you gain Install Points and Energy. Install Points buy you abilities, but Energy turns them on or off. You can move your energy around, but you never have as much Energy as you have Install Points, forcing you to make snap decisions about how you want to configure your character for each problem you face.
Despite having over forty abilities to combine, Machine: Impossible is a breeze to run. We made sure it had simple rules and would be perfect for 3-10 session campaigns and also for one-shots. It's an ideal game to break out if one person suddenly can't make game night, or if you need a palate cleanser between large campaigns. Especially because it's only $5!
