The Two Moons: The RPG that's so bad, the main character wants nothing to do with it!

Hello! I am Eric, the developer behind E.F. Studios. I’ve been making video games in RPG maker as a hobby for over 20 years.

My game The Two Moons is a game that spent many years in development, seeing several iterations before I finally released it. The original version was the first RPG I ever finished, using RPG Maker 2000, 20 years ago! You can imagine how unpolished a game made by a teenager turned out. Over time, I decided to turn the idea of a badly made RPG Maker game into a game itself, parodying RPG Maker games, especially the one I had created. What this eventually turned into was a game where the characters are self-aware that they are in a video game, and the main character thinks the game is terrible and doesn't want to play. But his friend figures out how to trap him in an infinite Yes/No loop where No isn't a real option (like old RPGs were notorious for) so he has no choice but to agree to play the game.

The game itself is the epitome of "what not to do when making an RPG Maker game." It features an unoriginal storyline, poorly fleshed out characters, stock graphics, boring maps, assets recycled from other abandoned projects, next to no instructions for the player, and way too many fetch quests! But as the storyline progresses, there are many twists and turns, and it completely goes off the rails of what it originally appears to be. There is also a second path you can take through the game that leads to an entirely different ending. And if you look hard enough, you can find some crazy secrets, including games within the game!

Overall the main storyline takes around 3-4 hours to complete, and the secondary storyline takes another 2-3 hours.

I also composed the music in the game myself. If you  have any questions, feel free to ask!
