Hi everyone! First-time dev here with a small project born from memes.

This was basically initially a joke in our friend group and RP chat, but recently (around a month and a half ago) I finally got the time and energy to try and actually make this in GDevelop and, at the same time, see what I can do despite having no experience. This probably won't be a very long game, there won't even be any checkpoints, and the plot is basically "Whelp, you kind of screwed up by taking so long with your RP reply, so go and get some items before the consequences of your actions got you first lol", so I don't expect it to be very known. But if in the end it will make my friends happy, and manages to get a few chuckles from players here and there I'll be good with that. Maybe I will finally get that RP reply after 6 months too lol.

Anyway, there quite a few things that are already done like:

- Main menu and music for it

- Pause menu and settings

- Main map with the maze

- Most of the collectable items are placed on the map

- 1 cutscene (there will be at least 3 in total, probably a couple more)

So now I have in plans to:

- Finish making textures for some of the items

- Add them to map so it won't feel too empty

- Add sfx for various elements (steps, ambience, buttons)

- Add necessary dialogue lines along with translation (there will be three languages in total - English, Russian and Ukrainian)

- Make a smaller map that will be necessary for getting one of the items

Aaaaaand I guess that's it for now.

Have a little video where I figured out how to do tween sprite animation  and some older screenshots:

Making progress few textures at a time.  Made some environment and a couple of objects needed for the "quest". Probably gonna do a lil bit of resizong

For one of the sections of the game the gamecontrols are slightly different, so before going to sleep I've decided to make and test them out in an empty project.

After an hour it finally works as intended! The code probably could have been cleaner lol, but i'm just happy i figured it out

Gonna add it into the game project after i get some sleep tho, it's already 2 am

"It'll be quick" i thought

"I'm just gonna add a couple more objects to the game, it's not gonna take too long" i thought

Well

That was around 5 hours ago and i'm only now going to bed lmao

I've finished creating some textures for one of the sections of the game, and some obstacles as well!

I've also tested out some interactions, because I had some concerns regarding instance variables, but it wasn't as hard as I feared

I also have finally started adding sound effects to the game dialogues! Not gonna lie, it was pretty fun, considering I got to "create" on my own this time

Here's a video showcasing some of the new objects (gate and hinge. i also added vents, but they were in the other part of the maze) and test of the dialogue (text here will be different in the final version)

After constantly launching myself to the sky  for 4 hours (on top of being stuck, falling through textures and general code shenanigans), I can confidently say that the game is now much closer to being finished! Now all that's left is dialogues, couple cutscenes and events, translation and some more objects to decorate the maze

I will upload video on what I've been working this past night a bit later

Had to take a break with the game thanks to the cold I caught, but I'm finally back on track

Added most of the text that's gonna be used, and am in the process of making items that will show these messages upon interaction. For now focusing mostly on making a lil' trailer, since it won't be too long before the game is finished and I thought it would be fun to have one

I also have plans for some other small tweaks for player movement but that's gonna happen a bit later

Finally finished a trailer for this silly little thing.

Was it necessary? Lol, probably not, but, honestly, worth it

Also pandako released a lifesaver of an extension for 3d in gdevelop, so that's really great, since I wanted to try some things that weren't possible without it (they're minor stuff, but still)

Well what do you know, I finally stopped getting lost in the maze of my own creation

Or, well, at least I'm not AS lost haha

But yeah, have this sneak peak of the ratta

Oh, and vents, yeah, them too
