(Project is inspired by some games and yes, might be similar to one on the itch.io)

(Has a purpose of learning programming and give a society fun and scare while playing)


Game will be released in about month if there won't be errors on our way, but we can't promise.

While developing we tried to figure out how props would be looking like, how they're looking like for you?

DayX(1-07-24)->Today() (Day1)

Surfing around net tried to get some human faces to make PSX NPCs. Being honest they don't look as BAD as previous game and my positive side is not actual modelling but programming.

Since I've been trying to figure out subtitles system - trying, debuggind and fixing problems, our own Simple Subtitle System Plugin will be avaiable after release the game for UnrealEngine 5 blueprints written in cpp if I'll make documentation either, for not a big price we guess. Also I'm preparing to make full cross plugins for story-line games, ie. popular on this site Fears to Fathom series <3. Plugins will be separated but still might cooperate across each other or without them. First of all - SimpleInteractionSystem and SimpleSubtitlesSystem are under construction and bug fixing. 

Back to our game, I am aware about animations, cuz have not tried Unreal Animation tool and Blender's rigging system is kinda broke for my project (Blender is too much sus). I was setting some ester eggs either from other horror games if ill get permissions ;).

Devlog Day2+3;

Forcing myself to push my project was not a good idea due making lots of new code lines since setting and programming functions from post above where I've spend bunch of hours. Stress, overthinking, bad precision during coding has lead me to point of nowhere, BAH! - either broke my code by one semicolon and searching for it 4 hours. But anyway, finally got some time to make Intro scene in sequencer and another problem occured - visibility of hud, you as experienced programmers might think "that's should be easy" - correct, it was so easy, but me exhausted of 4 day coding streak was like... clueless what happened. Nevertheless I'll prepare and discuss (with myself ofc) other cutscenes and try to make them bit more vibing. 


And yeah, this time I am on my own about music - ambient, intro, outro. Unfortunately i have no experience in making music (except music from main menu in my previous project) and i need to rely on some free assets that are avaiable on market. The hardest thing will be fit music to enviroment...


Untill now i've made:

- Intro scene;

- Fixing collisions (you could interact with object through wall);

- Adding ceiling lamps;

- New npcs and refreshed clothes' textures;

- Added washing machine;


Features needed:

- peeing;

Enviroment leaks

Day 4

Added:

- added radio for watchtowers;

- overall new font for subtiltes and textes;

- added map overview at the start point;

- collectible notes that can be read and destroyed after;


Next time we will try to make one of the scariest foe;

Day 5

Since last update I've started objective/tasks system where everything is scrypted, but unfortunately I've faced with some problems during productions and have no clue how to solve them - maybe in a while i get an idea from nowhere but for now I'm waiting for some asset from partner. Stay tuned guys!

Day 6

No ideas for today, maybe in a next day everything will be alr with my schedule. Dropping picture with mixing with light.


Day 7;

Since last devlog of mine we fixed and adjusted some enviroment with objectives. Honestly I was trying to implement lore in not scary, long  and time-wasted solution, so for everyone who wants to read about the lore of Fear Helps in game we seed some noted around the map. We still trying to adjust or overwrite some lore history and details but we think that is good for now. After finishing lore (and a bunch of games) we'll participate to making shooter horror game - storyline game with some Chernobyl lore. Also fixed texture which consumed lots of fps - optimization on +. Thanks for reading!
