When I use the shortcut for winrar it opens in notepad, when I extract the folders it claims the shortcut is for a file that doesn't exist, I found a couple of .exe files in the game, one does nothing the other shows your logo then closes itself along with the debug menu

Oh that's strange, does the debug menu say anything before it closes? OdysseyDemake.exe is specifically the one you need to open. It's the one that shows the logo probably.
Can you post which graphics card you have? I found that intel graphics 3000 series has some problems with the game. It's usually resolved by updating the drivers.

The debug menu says plenty but it's only up for half a second so I can't read it, and I don't have a decent graphics card, it's only a amd radeon hd 8610g since I don't play many pc games.
