Hi! I'm a freelance Korean translator who's been doing webtoon and webnovel localization for 5 years, now hoping to branch out to games (particularly smaller/indie cozy games). I do both English to Korean and Korean to English localization!
What makes me a good TL and why you might choose me instead of a translation agency:
- Quick and casual communication, making it easy to inquire about rates, progress, needs/wants, edits, my cat, etc.
- Cheaper than picking an agency since we get to omit middleman fees
- Specialization in story media with an ability to write compelling content rather than one-to-one literal translation
- A background in Latin (5 years), so I've got a knack for coming up with etymologically sensible proper nouns in fantasy settings if needed
- Up to date with both English and Korean memes & slangs (Did you know that memelord in Korean is 밈부자, or "meme-rich")
- No machine translation mess!
I participated in this year's LocJAM 6 if you're interested in my game translation work!
If you're interested in collaborating, reach out to me on discord @comonokomono and we can talk about your game :)
