I just wanted to say how much I love this game to the point I sperged out on my blog about it, which I hope is okay - https://wiredthoughtsbyadoll.online/f/ferarum---a-new-game-and-im-one-of-the-fir..

I felt less alone in the way I tend to talk and act when playing this game and it's just something so special to it's core for obvious reasons with it's unique art style and story alongside the shit posts that somehow just work with the way the story and art is done.  It's midnight and I'm already ready to play the game yet again, there's just so much going on to the point it feels like a fever induced nightmare. There were certain points I was able to see that caught me off guard, and I just really like Jojo's character as well as Frankie and the others we meet. There were many times the game gave me analog horror vibes which is stuff i fuck with and I just want to keep consuming more and more until I know everything I can about this piece of media until there's more updates released.  I've already shared this game with a lot of my discord friends who have been enjoying the game and it's just such a really cool game and something that's never been seen before.

I was awake at 1am, unable to sleep, on benadryl and was suffering insomnia so I decided to browse itch.io for something random to try out and the simplicity of the description of Ferarum intrigued me and I'm glad something told me to try the game out because I wasn't disappointed at all and could go on about this game for some time until (hopeful) future updates. I want to cosplay as Jojo at some point and would love to continue to share just how much I love this game on this thread whenever I create tributes which I will though to start was the blog post I made that I just couldn't help myself with when writing on my site. I don't know of OP/Jono takes art commissions but that was another thing I wanted to mention being curious about because getting a piece done from the artist of this piece of media would be so cool. (..◜ᴗ◝..) I can't thank the creator enough for this game, my new obsession.

thank you thank you!!

Goodness! Thank you for such an incredible post and for writing about it on your blog!! It means the world to me to hear how much you've been enjoying Ferarum and that it's resonating with you on such a deep level! Also big thankies for sharing it with your friends, I hope they enjoyed it as much as you! Truth be told, I read your post/blog earlier today and it really inspired me and gave me such a burst of energy that I couldn't resist channeling it into creating more content for the next update. So sorry if this response feels a bit delayed...

Back on track, it seems like you've discovered pretty much everything already lol and your theories are pretty close to the goings on with Jojo and Frankie and the world, but that being said there's still a ton of twists and turns left to develop and a good chunk of lore that has yet to be fully exposed (which reeeeally should've been done earlier in the story, I'm just a retard when it comes to writing). Statues, the moon, and a "cow" farm. That's all I'll say on that hahah! I wonder if a human version of the ship of theseus could exist? Just food for thought. You're also pretty spot on with my inspirations too, I'm a big OG fan of Yume Nikki, DDLC, Coffin, and more niche stuff like Killer7 and Franken Fran (which isn't a game but inspiration nonetheless)! If it's funny, scary and sexy all at once, it has my interest and Ferarum isn't just inspired by it, it's built off that guideline.

It's amazing to hear that you're already considering cosplaying as Jojo, you'd be the first to do it! I'm a HUGE enjoyer of fan content and consider cosplay as one of the highest forms of flattery so I'd be honored to see your tribute of her! And I'm touched by your interest in art commissions. While I don't currently offer commissions, your curiosity means a lot to me, and I'll definitely keep it in mind for the future.

Sorry if this reply seems alittle short in relation to what you've written but again, thank you from the bottom of my heart for your kind words and for being a part of the early Ferarum community!! Your enthusiasm is what drives me to continue making and expanding the game, and I can't wait to share more updates with you in the future!

I'm honestly honored that you even took the time to read through my retarded fangirl rambling about the game, so thank you for that.

૮꒰ྀི∩´ ᵕ `∩꒱ྀིა I'm excited for the next update and just can't express enough how cool this piece of media is especially with the way the internet and censorship is nowadays which is a shame but it's refreshing when there's rare gems like these where you can tell it's for people who genuinely don't give a fuck and just want to enjoy something different. I played through the game several times and was hoping I didn't miss anything, so it's good to hear that I discovered just about everything and that even my theories are close. There was that one specific scene I got when I re-launched the game which caught me off guard and made me realize just how dark this could get in future updates, but the humor and funny moments really adds to when something unnerving happens all of a sudden.

- statues, the moon and a "cow" farm, I tried thinking about it for some time though I can't wrap my head around what this will be like but I'm sure I won't be disappointed. I'm glad to meet another Yume Nikki fan in the wild!! (*ᴗ͈ˬᴗ͈)ꕤ*.゚  My new list of favorite games has put ferarum at the top next to games like yume nikki, saya no uta, lisa and so forth. Whenever new updates release, I would love to pick them apart piece by piece for future blog updates.

I hope it's okay if I continue to document everything I can of the game in the future as well as posting more to this space when I create tributes at some point. I can't wait for said updates, this is something I'm glad I get to experience early on and feel so very lucky. I'm so happy I'm so happy.

That's alright, I love reading peoples thoughts and opinions! Gives me a good gauge to see if things are resonating well with players or if certain things need to be cut out entirely so it's ALWAYS appreciated and I'll never consider it retarded :)

Thank you!! I'm excited for the next update too to be honest! It's got a couple of new Sven oriented scenes, more dinner scene art and more dialogue to help connect the flow a bit better. Censorship has and will always be a fat nothingburger to me and if anyone ever complains about it I simply do not care. Life doesn't have content warnings and people don't bleep their words in real life, any media that does is disingenuous to it's audience no matter how cruel/racist/sexist the subject matter is. That's what I think anyway and it's cool you seem to think the same way too. If you do feel like you've probably missed something, the game folders aren't archived or anything so it's alright to go poking around in them (so long as you don't mind spoilers haha)! There's also a helluva lot of shitty cut dialogue in the scripts too, non-canon of course but hey more content is more content. To answer one of the questions from your blog, yes, RNG plays a role some times but mostly during startup (before the logo comes on). There's an interview scene I don't think anyone has gotten yet, which is alright because it's Jojo edgelord shit anyway so no biggy.

I really hope it doesn't disappoint! It's still pretty far out there but when it makes sense you'll find the pieces have been here the entire time! And please don't put Ferarum on such a high pedestal! Yume Nikki, Song of Saya and Lisa are in a class of their own and easily S tier, it really doesn't deserve to be on that same level, though I'm extremely flattered you think that way! 。^‿^。

I don't mind at all! You can post whatever you like here for as long as you like :) Thanks for being so dedicated to this little game!!

Can't wait to see the next updates, some new Sven oriented scenes seems W as well as more dinner scene art. I really love the writing for the game and the raunchy style, I'm glad you have the same sentiments when it comes to censorship being a dumb nothing burger. It's part of the reason I created my website because I just stopped caring about not being able to voice what's really on my mind without platforms attempting to shut me up through mutes or bans. Our era has become too sterile and protected to the point artists can no longer freely express themselves without the possibility of repercussions, but if you have the I don't give a fuck attitude then it works out because those dedicated to the craft will stick around.

:3 I might poke around in the game folders aren't some point, just to maybe scan things out since I'm just a big fan girl of this piece of media. Might give me more to discuss in the next blog after future updates. The interview scene has my intrigued though, and it's something I might make a game out of hunting for since I like to see everything.. ~ Jojo edgelord shit is the best.

This is a game I can seriously see blowing up when it's completed just like the games I mentioned - so that's why I say that since I could see this being one of those types of games that gets videos upon videos made about it, all it takes is one streamer or v-tuber picking up the game, especially one like this that's just so unique and a gem in it's own respective ways. Thank you for replying as much as you have, it's fun getting to talk about this with the creator themselves. (❀❛ ֊ ❛„)♡ If I may ask I'm so curious about the way your brain works with being able to create something like this. I want to pick the brain.

For sure, it's tough times we live in and self-policing on social platforms with zero incentive other than to curb the wrong words, the wrong thoughts, is just cruel. It's no wonder you've made your own safe haven away from all the bullshit, if this is what it's gotta take these days then boy do I miss the 2000's.

Haha alrighty, I'll be there to read it once it's out then! And really? You actually like the edgey Jojo crap? I get embarrassed seeing the assets every day I was NOT cooking good that day lol. Hell, it's why Family Guy plays during the 50-ways-to-die speech, to distract from the blahblahblah going on. Ah well, edginess is too hard to shake off so expect more hahah!

Man, that'd be the dream! It only takes one hot shot to push a domino, seen it happen time and time again even with aforementioned Coffin.  Thanks for believing in it, to be making something so treasured to others makes me really happy so I don't mind talking with people about it!!

-If I may ask I'm so curious about the way your brain works with being able to create something like this. I want to pick the brain.

Please don't, I need it to survive :(

The early 2000s of the internet were something special, with all the personality platforms had, the freedom of speech and it was just a different time than what our digital space has become - where we have to resort to niche sites or make spaces of our own just to be able to discuss the things we are interested in since not everyone fits the mold within society and what's expected of us. I yap a lot when it comes to this shit but it's just a shame to have grown up with the internet to see what it's become, don't even get me started on things such as cancel culture and people trying to control what media others are allowed to enjoy just because it may make them uncomfortable, when they don't even need to consume the media in the first place and can choose to ignore it. ( ˶°ㅁ°) !!

I for sure love the Jojo edginess, it's just really quirky but in a comedic fun and sexy way that just makes the character more iconic. I always "literally me" characters like her because damn do I love the aesthetic of toxic walking red flags and being able to replicate that kind of taboo personality type because it's just fun and I like those types of characters that break the mold and can be off-putting to most people who can't put up with raunchy / edgy behavior. :3 adds to the comedic relief too and makes the sudden scares more unexpected.

ALSO - :c you may need your brain to survive,

but on a real note I suppose I'm just curious about what different things inspired you when making a game like this, the macabre, the obscurities, the art style and what almost feels like analog horror at some points I just can't help but feel so compelled to know more about the person who makes pieces like this because it's a rarity for things like this to exist in the first place.

Developer

It's pure insanity how someone can fight so hard for something they ultimately have no interest in consuming like why lie to others about it? For clout or rage baiting? It feels like every other week there's an old "problematic" IP that gets revamped with "modern audiences in mind" only to sell jack shit and bankrupt the studio, hell it's no wonder there's been so many layoffs in the gaming industry as of late. Who would've thought making shitty politically charged media leads to no sales?

Huh, that's a pretty good way of putting it. I still don't know if it's safe to model a personality after her, she's a bit unhinged and would 100% pull some illegal shenanigans for a smidgen of admiration. She's the kind of girl who'd take you out for snacks light the store on fire because the prices changed (they were on sale). Not in an evil kind of way mind you, just a comically bad misunderstanding of what's right along with narcissistic tendencies and small glimpses of self-reflection. I'm speaking straight yappanese, she's got big tits, bipolar disorder and would fuck anything that moves, she's perfect lol.

Oh right hahahah, guess I just have an extremely broad range of interests? At the time I was trying to get back into visual novels (specially with Gore Screaming Show and also Full Metal Demon Muramasa) but was reminded why I fucking hated them so much. Crappy CG animations, characters who don't shift positions, static facial expressions, these are AAA companies for gods sake and nobody thought to animate characters blinking??? Pissed me off so Ferarum was born out of that frustration. I really can't explain the macabre of it all, I have a long history with horror and overtly violent real life media so I aim to replicate the things I liked about those stories whilst leaving the crap behind. Not sure if this answers most of your questions but here's a photo of my bookshelf to get an idea.

I'm not sure if this would be a big ask or if it's something you already had planned, but by any chance do you have a discord for Ferarum or just in general? I honestly never meet anyone who thinks in a way that I do to these degrees and while it could come off as unprofessional I was curious if you would be interested in joining my discord space and having a channel dedicated to posting anything you want/maybe ferarum news since myself and a few others have enjoyed the game - but you also just seem like a fun fit. I don't know how much of my site you checked out beyond the blog I made of the game but my surroundings and spaces I create can tend to be a little unhinged, as well as some of the wild lore I have that's a bit problematic but you don't seem like the type to care about any of that shit and it would just be fun to have you on board. Of course this is all up to you and essentially me trying to digitally kidnap you.

Your shelf sold me.

Developer

That's very generous of you! Though might hold off on the dedicated channel offer, just doesn't feel like Ferarum warrants that kind of thing yet, maybe midway through Act 3 or something.. That being said, I still don't mind joining your Discord space! So long as everyone else is cool with that of course. I have read a fair bit of your blog (please stop doing drugs) so I got a general idea of the kind of vibe and it could be fun. My Discord username is "joyniche", has a stinky rabbit thing as the avatar, so feel free to add me. That goes for literally anyone else reading this too, even mystery lurkers several months from now, I'll always be here.

That's understandable, we'd still love to have you in the space! ( about the drugs, no promises :3 ) Though whenever you'd want a channel or if you'd want one at all, or even make your own dedicated space let me know.

Thank you! I sent a request, I'm "reki" but often change up my discord aesthetic.

mystery lurkers,

hello.
