Games that are about doing things in Real Life (game & self-development app hybrids)

Hi, since few years I am dealing with gamification of life in a form self-development apps that can be considered as a games.

There are few apps like Habitica or Do It Now but they are examples of shallow gamification - for example you can't loose a game, there is no narration etc. They are rather gamified task/habit trackers than games. Duolingo is a similar case.

And my main interest is about more stronger gamification where for example if you didn't do something in real life - you can lose a game.

I even consider it as a special game genre (Game of Life) that doesn't have it's commerical species - at least to my knowledge.

Recently I had discussion on reddit with other user that also gamified his life. Since there is no relevant community to talk about it we created a subreddit to spread the knowledge about this "weird" games. We are on a quest to find people that did similar things but it's not easy because it seems most people that do something like that invent it on his own.

Questions to more experienced users in this community:

Have you ever encountered this kind of mixing doing things in real life wrapped into a game?

Are you aware of similar game genres?

By any chance anybody gamified his/her life?
