Is it possible for me to host a server for my friends this way or do we have to find a server to play on? Thanks, any help is appreated
You host it the same way.
Just give your friends your external IP.
And if you have a router then make sure that you have port forwarding configured for ports 30303 TCP and 30304 UDP
