I find clicking on the slot holding the last drive that was in it usually fixes it, it is as if the game does not realize the last drive was unplugged. Likewise, the drive is sometimes not plugging into the slot because it thinks it is still stuck in another slot; I believe these issues are FPS tied so consider turning down settings if it happens a lot, or reducing the amount of light sources in your base
