it has happened 2 times now,  both back to back because i thought "ok haha very funny i'll fix this room now" and put another drive into the console and got fucken beaned. i am NOT risking another explosion, can someone tell me what the hell is happening? this also happened during the (lil spoiler) blood red sky, does that have any correlation with this

edit: ok so i slept through the night and it seems to have stopped but i'm still pissed off >:( it destroyed a huge pile of signals dude. AND MY PENCIL!

do you keep your drives piled on the computer terminal? Don't do that, if so, every time you plug in a drive it has a rare chance to bug out and everything around it updates, and since it's clipping into the terminal it gets insane momentum. It also can bug out the drives in general leaving them all cluttered around the terminals, and can break the slots on your terminals until you figure out what drive it's trying to stick t

aw man that sucks. i liked my huge pile of level 0 signals :(

It's a good idea to buy drive racks to avoid stuff like this happening. That, or you can just use a trash can for free and easy storage :>)

only issue with racks is sometimes the drive racks bug out and then you can't easily pull drives out anymore, no clue how to fix that issue...

solution: drive racks

problem: i am impatient and want to waste my money on fun stuff

how do i solve that one

See solution 2.

If you pick up the random red/green drives that appear in and around your base, those are the ones that explode.

The drives that you buy never explode, but if you mix them you are in for a bad time.

idk, they seemed fine, but i'll keep that in mind

edit: i'm pretty sure i mixed a few of those into my regular drives too so my single drive rack full of old level 0 signals might be a bit of a pick a diiick but it's whatever
