I downloaded the game for free initially but that felt like a crime so I payed $15 tonight. This game makes typing really entertaining. My only two issues are the best speed/time for each text isn't updating so it remains whatever my first try was. And it can be difficult to read the font.

If I remember correctly, in Sean Wrona's book, he mentioned this game creator did some pretty interesting stuff while researching this game. My finger's are crossed that the Type Dreams developer writes a book about those experiences.

Much love for this game and the developer <3

He has historically not been in a stable place in life, so while i wish him a happy and productive life, I think hoping for a book is unrealistic, because it takes a lot of time and dedication before you even have a guarantee it would be able to get published OR be profitable (if you are self-publishing). It's very hard to pursue without a stable life on the side that is able to provide for you.

Yes. I know what you mean. Reworded: Fingers crossed for inner peace, love and prosperity for Hofmeier. The book can wait till after.

I’m embracing instability. Sometimes it results in kind wishes from strangers, such as yours, M. Pizza — thanks for playing type dreams. I’m uploading a build that fixes the best high score thing (it says “BEST TIME”, but it’s really the book’s best completed WPM). I haven’t looked at this project’s code in a while so I thought, other than this tiny bugfix, for this build I’m gonna lean into the instabilities by arranging newer and more interesting ones.

One of which… Since you mentioned his book, it reminds me of one thing which I’ve only begun to implement. It was given to me by Mr. Wrona last year — a daily calendar he’d arranged of significant dates from typing history with special relevance given to speed typing competitions etc etc. It’s only partly implemented, I’m afraid — most of it is still awaiting transcription haha. Next update, perhaps.

Cheers!!

An unexpected surprise, i thought you had gone offline for the foreseeable future. Much love from The Netherlands.

Loved this game so much I bought an Underwood No. 5 typewriter. Thanks for the new hobby!

Now I’m thanking you for an update. The returns on any of the different Underwood 5s are much better than sliding f1-f12 etc etc

What’s the first thing you typed with it?

This typing game is explicit about what key should be next (except I guess maybe during user names / passwords haha), but the real mystery about typing, and typewriters!, is what to do with that blank paper.

Best wishes to you and your new machine. I hope you stain a lot of sheets together!
