Dagger Run on Itch.io

Dagger Run: Aerocombatic Racing Pre Alpha

Hi Everyone, I am happy to announce that I have recently uploaded Dagger Run to Itch.io. I've been working on it by myself for a while now and would love to get your thoughts on it.

What is it?

Dagger Run is a fast paced aerial combat racing game. Race through dangerous courses against a field of opponents. Step out of the cockpit to find, buy and install upgrades to your Dagger.

How far along is it?

Currently the project is at a point where I have the racing mechanics feeling pretty good. There is a single track you can race through against 8 AI racers.
There are 3 items you can use: Blasters - rapid firing energy blasts, Missiles - homing explosive disks and Afterburners - additional speed boost.
There is a garage you can explore in first person to change the colour of your Dagger when racing.
I also have a tutorial level to go over the main controls and systems.

Project goals

The end goal of this project is fairly ambitious. I am aiming to blend sci-fi racing with the immersive sim genre. I want players to be able to travel to events around the galaxy on strange and varied planets. Each planet will have a small hub world for you to freely explore to seek out upgrades for your Dagger and to experience and progress the story of the game.

itch.io and pre-alpha

The version of the game I have here on Itch.io I am calling the pre-alpha, I have a lot of development ahead on the project but I wanted a space to be able to share the game with you as I continue to work on it and build it up. I have plans to take the game to Steam once it has passed this pre-alpha stage and trying early access.

The game is free to download and I will be keeping it updated. This version is not intended to be a final game and as such I would not recommend donating money to it unless you want to support me while I continue to work on it. Let me know if you have any questions and I would be happy to answer them.
