Hey there!
I'm a software engineer with ~6 years of experience that's recently started learning Godot and game development. Over the course of my six year career, I've worked with various complex systems that operate at scale and have both worked as an individual contributor as well as a team lead. I genuinely thought solving these types of real world engineering problems was my passion until... it wasn't.
I quit my job around four months ago mostly to take a hiatus but also so I can clear my mind to figure out what I want to do next and I'm being convinced more and more each day that the area I want to explore next is game development. I've played a variety of games for the past 20 years (I'm 30) and the main reason I got into programming in the first place was because I had an obsession with games so really I'm just going back to where it all began.
With that said, I'm still fairly new to game development so I'll likely need to learn concepts that may already be familiar to someone more experienced but I'm pretty confident that the skills I've accrued over the past several years will translate well. So yeah, kind of a long blurb about myself but I feel like I'm at a crossroads now where I can choose to learn the fundamentals of 3D art or find someone to work with.
What I think I'm looking for is an artist (preferably one that's familiar/interested in 3D design) to collaborate with. That could really be anything from game jams to building out our own game to... anything else. I'm open to having almost any conversation so don't hesitate to reach out!
