Is there a way to get higher quality sprites?

Hi !

I'm wondering if there's any way to make the character sprite resolution bigger than ~80 x ~50 so I can put more detail into sprites? I've set the game resolution to 1920 x 1080 already (if that helps/if I should do that at all), and I'm using the most recent version of PFE as of posting this and I'm using Gamemaker LTS.

If there is a way, is there any recommended resolution size I should use?

Many thanks :D

If you look in the character init scripts, the "sprite_scale" variable is set to 2 by default. This is because all the characters in base PFE are scaled up 2x. If you change it to 1, then the sprites won't be upscaled and you'll have more pixels to work with. Also, make sure the camera is zoomed out enough.

can i use non pixilated assets for this engine

You can use whatever assets you can import into GameMaker. Try it on the free version.
