Happy Friday, Itch friends!
I'm extremely pleased to share with you a project of mine that's been in the works for some time now. After over a year spent prototyping and re-designing, as well as months of development with our incredibly talented team, we have finally released the first pre-alpha demo of Aquamarine.
Aquamarine is a point-and-click exploration game about a nameless traveler marooned on an unknown planet covered in water. Through navigating the alien ocean depths and deciphering the ecosystem, you try to survive long enough to forge ahead and recover your crashed ship. All artwork and animation is completely hand-drawn, inspired by the classic comics of French artist Moebius and other pyschedelic sci-fi of the '70s and '80s. There's a killer synth soundtrack too, composed by the amazing Jeremy Malvin (aka Chrome Sparks).
Aquamarine's gameplay is sort of a mix between roguelikes, adventure games, and elements of the survival genre. It’s also turn-based, with an emphasis on defensive tactics and maneuvers over combat, but is pretty fast-paced once you get the hang of it. The game challenges you to take risks and learn from the consequences, requiring perseverance and taking the time to understand your surroundings. Our team at Moebial Studios would be THRILLED if you took a moment to explore Aquamarine's demo. And if you enjoy it, please consider sharing with your friends and checking out our Kickstarter campaign. Any and all support is immensely appreciated. :)
