Devlog: Generating story/characters/dialogue with GPT's AI (step-by-step guide + game demo)

Hello guys,

I made this demo for this game called "Dreams of Draco" which I am trying painfully to promote.

This is a text-based adventure game, with currently 3 characters (out of 10 to-be-made), with 200 narrative paragraphs per each story. There is a bug with the kingdom description you need to scroll by clicking on empty space. Also I coded with 1920x1080 // Windows, and I can't guarantee all your setups. The remaining stuff, it should work.

Get an idea of the quality of the generated text:

I had the idea to explain for free how I am making the content with the AI generation process, if it can help my fellow indie devs.

Do you think about using such AI is unfair, or is it the future for indie devs?

Download the demo here:

Making-of instructions here:

I wish people would be interested in what I do because I struggle to raise interest on this stuff.

I hope at least my making-of will help you with your own projects.

Note: I can not elaborate on everything but I hope it should be enough to give you an idea of the process.

When in doubt, ask GPT ===> chat.openai.com

Thanks!

Pierre
