Mkali, a teenager homo erectus, lives with her clan in the caves of a cliff in an area today known as Koobi Fora on the shores of Lake Turkana.

She helps with domestic chores such as carving silex to obtain scrapers and axes and harvesting fruit. She still doesn't know it but she is about to star in the most important moment in the history of the human being that will end up changing her destiny, that of her clan and that of all human beings.
