Untitled Sneeze Game. First Rough Sketch and Sprite Sheet

I started working on a 2d romantic bullet hell game. The idea is to finish it, or make a playable version, by the end of summer.

This is my first video game as well. I chose Unity for the engine and throughout these few days I have mainly been working on the Sprite sheets and movements of the female character. Here is a sketch I did for the character. Everybody say hi to Mel, she has allergies and that is crucial in the story of my game.

Then by using the Timeline in Photoshop I did the animation No 1 above and then put every frame in a separate sheet. As the newbie I am I used this tutorial as reference, for anyone who needs it. I ended up with a pixel art version of my character, so I'll probably end up doing another sprite sheet.

Another reason why I want to redo the sprite sheet is because the animation is kind of off in general. I generally do animations in OpenToonz, which is way easier because of the Onion skin. Unfortunately I haven't found the way to enable Onion Skin in Frame animations on Photoshop. Any tip from anybody who has faced this issue or another software recommendation, for sprite sheets, is welcome.

That would be everything I can show for now. I have some gifs that I am not able to upload here, maybe because the 4MB thing. But I'll upload more content when I finish the improved Mel sprite sheets. I should also how both characters would look in the main screen of the game. Let me know if you guys like it. [The image is huge so it's at the bottom of the page]

That would be everything that I have for now. My next devlog would tentatively focus on the improved Sneeze sprite sheet and other sprite sheets for Mel and the male character, who doesn't have a name yet, so you guys are welcome to share name ideas in the comments. On the next devlog I will also comment more on what is the deal with sneezing and the mechanics of the game. I am very excited for this solo project and hopefully some of you tune in this journey. Bye for now!

cool!

This sounds like a great concept! Hope it sees the light of day.
