3Dnes Grey-Screening when trying to load a ROM?

I've been trying to load any and all forms of 3Dnes compatible roms from both the forums and various emulation sites, with little success. Upon loading a properly formatted rom, all that happens is a grey screen appears in place of the game, and the emulator restarts then reappears on the bottom task bar of my desktop, and thats all that happens. I've tried to perform various types of troubleshooting with little success, and am hoping to get some help here. Thanks!

What do you mean by 3DNes compatible roms? 3DNes rom is just normal rom ...

What I mean by that is a rom that I renamed to work in 3DNes, nothing more than that. Still not sure what to do about the Grey-screening issue...

why do you have to rename a rom file? For example you have a rom: smb1.nes and a 3d patch mario.3dn, just put the mario.3dn in smb1.nes folder and rename it to smb1.3dn. Launch 3DNes then open the smb1.nes everything will work.

I'm having a similar issue but I haven't renamed anything at all. The game Toobin' doesn't seem to load whatsoever, just gives me a grey screen.

Some games are not supported yet by 3DNes. It's just that.I repeat again 3dn files are not rom files. They are just 3d patch file for a specific game. You must open your own rom file to run your game.

Then I would suggest getting on that before doing anything else. People are going to want to play their favorite games with this software and if their favorite game isn't supported they're not going to want to play, regardless of quality.

Yeah. I know. I'm not a moron.

Sorry if i acted a little rude it's just because so many people misunderstand 3dn file as rom file. I have met so many similar situations like that and had to repeat the answer again and again. For your opinion about the emulation work and the 3dification one, which has a higher priority, i don't agree with it. Nes emulation is over done with hundred emulator. If you just want to play your favorite game, there are many options for you. People want to try 3DNes because it gives a new fresh 3d experience. That's which makes 3DNes different from other nes emulator. That's why i have to focus on the 3dification part first. When it reaches a mature state, i will come back to the emulation part then. If your favorite game is not yet supported by 3DNes then you can always come back later then.

The program is freezing up and not responding after I hit the Open tab. The very first time I loaded 3DNES I was able to brows through my roms. I haven't been able to get to my rom menu since. I've deleted the files and have extracted the files again and again. Other than the first time it does nothing but freeze after hitting open. Any suggestions?

I have a problem.  I don't know if anybody else has this.  I am running 3DNes on a MacBookPro, running macos Sierra.  I have purchased the pro version of 3Dnes and was excited to get the FPV (first person view) feature.  However, upon toggling it, all I get is a black screen with the mini map in the corner and no game in the main window, when I do manage to move around a bit, it seems that the game is going on off view of the camera and totally flat, when doing certain moves I can see flickers of it, but no true "first person effect", I have tried messing with the X, Y, Z coords. in the FPV tab but to no avail.   Has anyone ever had this problem?  Or seen anything like it.  I been looking on the net non stop for like 2 days for some answer or reference, and I cannot find anyone with said issues, the same as mine.

Your help would be GREATLY APPRECIEATED!!!!!

Yeah, I tried playing Megaman 2 to start, and while it worked originally, while I was editing some sprites (since chunks of the building in the opening are stuck in the background) it suddenly wouldn't start the game back up when I closed the edit menu, it just sat there with the sprite highlighted. I just decided to save the 3DN then close the emulator and open it up again, but now it won't open Megaman again, it just stays on the grey screen.

Also a small criticism, to avoid confusion I'd recommend a simple readme note instead of the existing manual, as normally when opening something like this a file named "readme" in a simple .txt always catches my eye, meanwhile I didn't even notice the manual until you mentioned it in a different thread. Plus my computer doesn't even have a program that can open it, so other than the 3DNs being patches instead of roms, I'm guessing on most of this stuff
