On POP! OS, starting the game right out of the box isn't possible; the game wants the file libGLEW.so.1.13 when only the 1.10 version comes packaged with the game. Renaming said file to libGLEW.so.1.13 fixed the issue for me. Not sure if it will work on other distros.
