Hi all,

We have an exciting new release of our test automation tools for Unity that will greatly enhance your testing experience. It brings new features like support for WebGL and the Recorder (a functionality that allows testers with little or no technical background to run automated tests).

What’s new:

  • Recorder - generates automated tests by recording your actions in the AltTester Desktop and makes it possible to assert properties to certain values.
  • Support for WebGL, beside the platforms we were supporting earlier (standalone, Android and iOS) - from AltTester Unity SDK v2.0.0 you also have the option to build your app on WebGL
  • AltServer supports multiple driver connections - before this version the AltTester Desktop or the tests could only be connected to the instrumented app sequentially, but from now on they can connect simultaneously.
  • Start Desktop in batch mode - In order to save resources and avoid displaying the UI, you can start the AltTester Desktop in batch mode.
  • Layout changes - we redesigned the connection panel to be easier to understand and use, as the architecture changed in this version as well.
  • Improved Screenshot area - we reduced the size of the image, which in turn improved the performance of the AltTester Desktop App and of the SDK impact on the app’s performance.
  • Updated websocket client
  • Architectural & subscription cost changes

Hello. Our team just downloaded v2 SDK and working on writing test case.
but still have problem when using unity 2018 :)

Works well on 2021
It's really a great tool

Hi. Do you still encounter the same problem? If so, please write to our technical team on our Discord Server.

Hi everyone,

We have worked on a hotfix for AltTester Unity SDK & AltTester Desktop. We’ve made some bug fixes and improvements that are available now with our current release and will make your testing experience smoother and easier.

What’s new with AltTester Desktop:

Terms and conditions - you can access them in app anytime you need them.

Keep your settings - no more losing the last made settings when closing the desktop app. Your settings will remain persistent with their last modified version when reopening the desktop app.

In-app guiding information - we’ve added info points to help users move more easily between results while testing.

Responsiveness - we’ve resolved multiple issues encountered with overlapping elements, including from the Getting Started Guide, for a smoother user experience

Connection panel - we’ve refactored the code on the connection panel design-wise, with AltServer easier to access and run tests.

What’s new with AltTester Unity SDK:

Added a tab with link and info for adding the SDK package from OpenUPM

Support for BrowserStack with Python Android & iOS

Search by Tag no longer returns console errors when tag name is not defined

Fixed the playInEditor issue

Updated the docs to explain why the cloud section is not updated

Fixed AltTester Editor unauthorized access exception when XML file path points to a folder

EditorWindowConfiguration is now created at a static path in the Assets folder

We added the versioned documentation for AltTester Unity SDK so that you can have access to the older resources: API, screenshots and more.

If you are using an older version of AltTester Desktop (v.1.5.1) and you want to upgrade to the new enhanced version (v.2.0.1), you need to deactivate the in-use seat from your website account and reactivate it in the new version of AltTester Desktop (v.2.0.1).

Let us know if you have any questions or you encounter any trouble with our tools.
