Hi Folks,

Hope you are all well. We just uploaded an early build of our game Paddly, its inspired by the classic games Pong and Pinball with some touch ups. We have purposely gone with retro looking look and feel, as we wanted to concentrate our efforts on fun aspect. The game will act as a tech demo for some backend tech we are building to explore using aspects of decentralisation as features in casual games. Appreciate any feedback to increase the fun aspect in particular but also any bugs or negatives. Also if there is something we have done that you particularly like, that would be nice to hear too :)

Thank you for spending time playing our game.

Hi!

I've played it a bit, and it's really simple fun! Though I'd be interested to hear what this decentralised aspect is? I see it mentioned here and on the game page, but no explanation of what the feature actually is?

Thank you for taking the time to provide feeback Partnano. After some chats I think we are going to raise the stakes a little and limit the attempts per day, also going to make paddle more responsive.  I'm not expecting a die hard audience but wanted to at least put something fun out Re: Decentralised - Personally I'm fascinated by the prospect of greater decentralisation, whilst having an appreciation for where centralisation has purpose. Player data is an area that I think is quite underdeveloped in gaming space. Game platforms are a bit greedy and effectively haves reservoirs of player data, to protect it...which they do but they also use it as telemetry at scale to build more addictive products. This will be an experiment to show what if proprietary data was removed as a motive. I think being able to prove you played a game or reached a certain milestone could be a very useful signal for community building. So what we would like to experiment with next is making game developer proof'd player data accessible by default. So should someone want to build a community or service for players, they dont need our permission, the data will be the players to use (each players data encrypted). If someone wants to preserve their data and others on permaweb, they can go offer that service. To over simplify the experiment is to try to turn player data into lego blocks for others to build upon in a manner that is player led. Does that resonate? Appreciate any thoughts or feedback.

Hi Partano, we have have polished the game up a bit. Curious to hear what you think.

Seems to have a pretty well polished feel to the game. I like it. Wish it didn't have such big particles when the ball hits things, it is too distracting for me.

Thank you Spooneystone, heard that a few times now so its high on the list to fix. Also going to make the paddle slightly more responsive. Did you feel it lagged at all?

no lag at all. Using Firefox browser.

Hi Spooneystone. New build up, would love to hear what you think.
