App crashes when loading 1080p video's trough SMB

When I use the app with multiple screens (3x3) and load video from my MacBook trough SMB, the app crashes when I require too much resolution. Around 4-6 video's in 1080p resolution is fine but when I try to watch 6+ video's simultaneously in 1080p the app crashes.

If I try to run 3x3 in 720p there is no problem. But when I try 4 video's in 4K the app crashes as well.

Does anyone have a work around or a solution?

The Quest 2 doesn't have enough memory to play all the videos at once. The higher resolution (or higher fps) a video is, the fewer number of videos can be played before the Quest 2 runs out of memory. I still haven't figured out how to detect if there's enough memory to play a video.

You could use the PC version and stream via airlink/virtual desktop to work around the memory constraints.

Thanks for the quick reply!

I work on Mac so no luck with AirLink. Do you have any other suggestions?馃槆

It's primarily a limitation of the hardware. Maybe the Quest 3 will have more RAM when it's released.
