Did you download the "MacOS Version" and you have a "Game.app" file in the folder after unpacking it? What happens when you try to execute it?
I know that for some Macs, the default extract methode for zip files can cause an issue. In that case, the app "The Unarchiver" from the Mac App Store can help to properly unpack the zip without changing the file types of some files in the game folder.

One user had a problem due to a M1 processor, and got it fixed by downloading "Rosetta".  His comment was "Rosetta allows applications on an M1 processor based macbook to run applications with Intel software".
