Genes is a story about a man named Jones who wakes up in a mysterious laboratory where tests are carried out, under the pretext that these are atonements for his brutal crimes in the past. Jonesy is chipped, which is why he developed amnesia. Jonesy's task is to find out why he is here, and also to decide whether he is a bad person or a good one. Pieces of his memory somehow come to the surface.
